Rob Reiner has endorsed Senator
Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination in the run-up to 2008's U.S.
presidential election.
The When Harry Met Sally filmmaker, who campaigned extensively for Democratic
presidential candidate Al Gore in 2000, will host a fundraising party for
Clinton's 60th birthday at his home in Brentwood, California on 21 October
(07).
Reiner says, "I've been around a long time in the political wars and I've
been on the front lines of them. I'm interested in someone who can really
manage those political waters."Every one of the Democratic candidates is strong, but Hillary is head and
shoulders above the rest."Reiner isn't the first director to back Clinton - Steven Spielberg announced
his support for the former First Lady in June (07).This is not the first time the Reiner has backed apolitical candidate in 2004 he
campaigned in Iowa for Howard Dean the Democratic Presidential candidate and Al Gore in 2000.The director was also considered a possible candidate to run again Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2006, but he decided not to run for personal reasons.
