Ringo Starr has said he is stunned by the reaction of Liverpool residents after a remark he made saying he missed nothing about Liverpool.
The former Beatles drummer is said to be surprised because he made the comment as a joke.
Residents even vandalised a Beatles memorial in Liverpool after Starr said on Jonathon Ross’ show that he missed nothing about Liverpool.
Ringo, who has lived in Los Angeles and Surrey, south England for decades, told British magazine Live, "I played the Echo Arena (in Liverpool) and everything was great. Then I did the Jonathan Ross show and he said, 'Is there anything you miss about Liverpool?'.
I said, 'No'. I was being flippant. It was funny. I thought the whole of Liverpool would laugh."
