Actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon have been on a string of secret dates in a bid to re-kindle their relationship. The couple, who met on the set of upcoming movie Rendition, never confirmed a relationship and went their separate ways in June (07), but have now got back together again.In the last few days Gyllenhaal and Witherspoon have been photographed enjoying each other's company on numerous occasions. Their brief separation reportedly came about when Witherspoon, who separated from husband Ryan Phillippe last year (06), wanted to spend more time with her two children.But a source tells American magazine Us Weekly, "Reese came to terms with the fact that she can have a relationship and spend time with her kids."Witherspoon met husband Ryan Phillippe in 1997 at her 21st birthday party. They were in egaged by the end of 1998 just before they starred together in Cruel Intentions. The pair were married in June 1999.After seven years of marriage the couple announced their seperation in October 2006. Witherspoon cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for divorce.

Gyllenhaal's most high profile relationship is with Spiderman co-star Kirsten Dunst the pair met in 2002 and dated on and off until December 2005.
