Rajinijanth has been placed in intensive care after he was hospitalised with breathing difficulties. The 61-year-old icon was on set during the first day of shooting his new film Rana in Chennai, India last month when he was taken ill. Doctors found that he had been suffering from intenstinal problems and put the star on dialysis and drained his body of any excess fluids. Despite these efforts, Rajinikanth's health further deteriorated and he was admitted into intensive care at Sri Ramachandra hospital yesterday. However, Rajinikanth is making a good recovery. A medical officer says, "He is responding well and we are happy with the parameters before and after the procedures in (the) intensive care unit. We stongly hope that he can return to a private room in a couple of days."
