Britain’s best-loved comedian, Peter Kay, has stormed through the 10 million mark for his total number of DVD sales, surpassing the mammoth figures of both Avatar (3,342,123) and Mamma Mia (6,349,881) put together - two of the biggest selling releases of all time.

The newly crowned king of comedy passed the 10 million milestone with the recent Blu-ray and DVD sales of The Tour That Didn’t Tour - Tour, released on 7th November.

Together with the comedian’s other hilarious DVD releases, such as Peter Kay Live At The Bolton Albert Halls and Phoenix Nights, this makes him the biggest selling comedian Britain has ever produced.

Peter already has an incredible four DVDs that have exceeded the one million sales mark, including the hilarious Live at the Top of the Tower and Peter Kay Live At The Bolton Albert Halls. Peter Kay Live - The Tour That Didn’t Tour - Tour is also on track to sell in excess of one million copies!

In recognition of reaching this landmark, Peter Kay says: "It’s unbelievable to have a sold so many DVD’s, funnily enough I’ve not got any of my own as my family take them all, although ironically I have got two copies of Avatar and three Mamma Mia’s."

Kay is now recognised as the biggest selling comedian of all time. He currently holds the records for the biggest selling live stand-up DVD Live At The Bolton Albert Halls, autobiography The Sound Of Laughter and his most recent Tour That Didn’t Tour Tour made him the first comedian to play 15 sold out nights at the O2 Arena in London and a record-breaking 40 nights at the Manchester Arena, more then any other artist in the world playing to a record-breaking 1.2 million and officially making him the biggest and fastest selling stand-up comedian in the world. .
