Sir Patrick Stuart, Spike Lee and Ray Romano have been honoured at the Peabody Awards.
The annual Awards took place in New York on Monday and are aimed at celebrating the best in broadcasting.
Stewart was honoured for his performance in the TV production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Lee was awarded for Da Creek Don’t Rise and If God Is Willing, his documentary of Hurricane Katrina.
Romano won an award for his show Men of A Certain Age and joked with the crowd about his lack of knowledge of the awards, “The first thing I did when I found out we won a Peabody Award was Google Peabody Award... (I am impressed the Peabody board has) the guts to destroy the reputation of this award by giving it to me.”
The Good Wife and Claire Danes’ Temple Grandin were among the other shows to get a mention.
Larry King hosted this year’s 70th anniversary show.
