Rocker Ozzy Osbourne is lending his support to a Taiwanese band campaigning for the country's entry into the United Nations. The group, named ChthoniC, will use its links to the former Black Sabbath frontman to promote Taiwan's campaign of obtaining membership to the world body. The band will travel to at least 80 cities in Canada, Germany, Britain and the United States to further their cause - with Osbourne setting up 20 of the U.S. gigs and paying a proportion of the transport costs.Singer Freddy Lim says, "I'm not for any political party, but I'm for my poor country's joining the United Nations." Black Sabbath enjoyed sucess in the 1970's despite little monetary investement from their music label. To date the band have sold 70 million albums.In 1979 Ozzy was fired from the band for unreliability due to his constant drug use. However Ozzy went on to have a successful solo career.During the 1997 Ozzfest tour Ozzy reunited with Black Sabbath and they performed together regularly ever since.
