Mulligan Chooses Family Over Labeouf For Oscars
Shia Labeouf will not be on the arm of his Oscar-nominated girlfriend Carey Mulligan at Sunday's (07Mar10) Academy Awards - she's opted for a family affair on the red carpet.
The 24 year old Brit is up for the Best Actress trophy at the revered event for her turn in An Education.
But the actress won't be gracing the red carpet with her actor beau, because she's taking her parents and brother instead.
She says, "(I'm taking) my mom, my dad and my brother".
LaBeouf and Mulligan have been dating since they met on the set of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps last year (09).
Matt Damon Plots Oscars Tantrum
Matt Damon is threatening to steal the show at the Oscars - by throwing a tantrum when he doesn't win a Best Supporting Actor honour.
The movie star has already accepted he won't beat category favourite and Inglourious Basterds star Christoph Waltz - and so he's thinking about his reaction when the German's name is read out on Sunday (07Mar10).
He tells FemaleFirst, "I'm waiting for the losing actor to have the courage to just go 'F**k!' when the camera pans on him. If I have the balls you'll see me do it on March 7."
But the Invictus star could be a winner at the Oscars on Sunday if he can look more gracious than pal Stanley Tucci, who is also nominated.
He explains, "I emailed Stanley Tucci. We have a contest to see who could look more magnanimous when Christoph Waltz wins!"
Gabourey Sidibe Snubs Winfrey's Oscar Offer
Precious Star turned down the chance to be Oprah Winfrey's date at Sunday's (07Mar10) Academy Awards - because she is so in awe of the TV titan.
The Hollywood newcomer is up for the Best Actress Oscar at the upcoming ceremony, and has asked her mum to accompany her on the red carpet.
Sidibe had another woman vying to take her to the bash - America's biggest chatshow host.
But the actress insists she had to snub Winfrey's offer, because she gets too starstruck when she meets her.
She tells People.com, "Oprah called me and was like, 'Hey girl, do you want to ride together?' I was like, 'I got it Oprah, calm down. I don't want to show up with you. People will think we're too cool.'
"She's the only person that I'm continually starstruck by. When I meet people I get used to them very quickly because everyone seems like a friend because I watch them on TV. But Oprah is the only one I can't get used to.".
