The Bafta’s haven’t given us their full shortlists yet, but the voting has already started on the Orange Rising Star Award.

The only award to be voted for by the public, The Rising Star prize has been going since 2006 with it's previous winners being Noel Clarke, Shia LaBeouf, Eva Green and James McAvoy.

The nominees are Kristen Stewart of Twilight fame, Nicholas Hoult (Skins, About A Boy) Carey Mulligan (An Education), Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland) and unknown French actor Tahar Rahim.

As with everything these days, as soon as anything comes out, people are willing to bet on it, and this is no exception.

At the moment, Kristen Stewart is the heavy favourite with current odds of 4/7, the sort of odds you’d bet your house on if you were inclined to.

Despite her Golden Globe nomination for An Education, Carey Mulligan is only joint second favourite alongside Nicholas Hoult at 9/2.

With both Jesse Eisenberg and in particular Tahar Rahin, who shot to prominence in much fancied French film Un Prophete (The Prophet), it looks like Kristen Stewart might not have to fight to hard to get the title.

Commenting on the odds, Sky Bet's entertainment betting spokeswoman Helen Jacob said: "Golden Globe nominee Carey Mulligan would arguably be the critics' choice but given that this award is voted by the public, Twilight star Kristen Stewart can rely on the support of hoards of 'Twi-hards', which makes her a worthy frontrunner."

With two MTV Movie Awards to her name last year, the young American actress could be looking at a great start to 2010.
