Former The OC star Mischa Barton has revealed her first choice career was to be a lawyer instead of an actress.Barton was born in London but moved to New York with her family at the age of five, and she couldn't be more proud of her originsShe says, "I'm so proud of my roots. I feel very English and if we'd stayed in London I'd probably be a lawyer now."Barton, 21, even keeps her Los Angeles home well stocked with tastes of England.She adds, "In my house you wouldn't know that we weren't in England. I have Lucozade and Ribena in my fridge, and Marmite and Weetabix on the cupboard."The actresses big break was in The OC as Marissa Cooper appearing in 76 episodes between 2003 to 2006. Over the three seasons Marisssa survived a drug overdose, an attempted rape, shot Ryan's brother, before dying in Ryan's arms at the end of series 3. But the show which is broadcast in 50 countries has brough Mischa fame and recognition in 2006 she won the Teen Choice award for best actress.But with the success of the show she has now branched out into movies due out this year is Closing the Ring where the young actress stars alongside Christopher Plummer and Shirley Maclain and directed by Richard Attenborough and will premier at the berlin International Film Festival. Virgin Territory is the second picture due out this year with Hayden Chrisensen and Tim Roth which is expected to be released in the summer.The actress also has two projects in post production Malice in Sunderland and Don't Fade Away with Beau Bridges.
