Matthew Broderick and actress Brooke Shields are to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by taking part in a Broadway performance with other stage stars.
Broderick and Shields will be joined by Tony Award winners Bebe Neuwirth, Sutton Foster, Joel Gray and Harvey Fierstein in Times Square on Friday (09Sep11) - two days before the anniversary of the tragedy.
The stars will sing New York, New York at the location where they performed the same track shortly after the atrocity in the city in 2001.
Other Big Apple stage stars will also join the tribute line-up as part of the I Will campaign, which encourages people to perform good deeds and support charitable causes.
Chairman of The Broadway League, Paul Libin, says, "Ten years ago Broadway united with the city to communicate that the shows must go on, just as life must.
"And now Broadway is banding together again to inspire participation in charitable projects in honor of those lost."
