Matt Damon cycled off on the 68-mile (109-kilometre) Cape Argus bike trek on Sunday (08Mar09) in South Africa.
The Bourne Identity star joined brother Kyle and former rugby captain Francois Pienaar among the 35,000 riders attempting the gruelling bike challenge.
Damon will be playing Pienaar in Clint Eastwood's new movie The Human Factor, about the South African Springboks’ Rugby World Cup win in 1995.
The movie star and his team hit the road with the words 'MAD' and 'Are you crazy enough?' printed on their cycling jerseys.
This isn't the first campaign that the Hollywood actor has supported as, along with George Clooney and Brad Pitt, Damon has supported the ONE campaign which fight Aids in the Third World.
