Leonard Nimoy is to narrate the first astronomic orchestral concert on the lawn outside Hollywood landmark the Griffith Observatory.
Film and TV's Mr. Spock will be backed by the 67-piece Symphony in the Glen for the full moon performance of Arthur B. Rubinstein's Observations on 4 October (09).
It's the first time in the observatory’s 74-year history that a full symphony orchestra has performed there.
The observatory has provided the backdrop for a host of classic movies, including Rebel without a Cause, The Terminator, Bowfinger and Transformers.
Nimoy returned to the big screen earlier this summer when he reprised the role of Spock in the rebooted Star Trek franchise.
Directed by JJ Abrams the movie went back to the beginning of the story of the Enterprise and it's crew as Spock and Kirk set out on a mission for the very first time.
There's more big screen action for the seventy eight year old as he will star in The Land of the Lost which is released this week in the UK.
