Kings of Leon related rockers always feel grounded when they head home to rural Oklahoma as many of their families live off the land.
Brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and cousin Matthew have become one of the biggest names in the music industry since forming the band in 1999, but are reminded not to undervalue the simple things in life by their less well-off family members.
Matthew Followill tells Music-News.com, "A decent portion of our family lives off the land up there. They build their own houses or caverns and stuff and they just live in there, live day to day... I don't think that they have a choice necessarily. That's what they've been given and that's what they are able to use."
Bassist Jared admits he and his bandmates have thought about sharing their wealth, but don't think that their families would know what to do with the cash.
He adds, "We definitely help out, we do what we can... There's ways that you can give without just giving money."
