Johnny Knoxville's crazy new TV stunt show has become a daily hospital drama - because so many people are getting badly hurt on set.
The Jackass prankster has teamed up with Motocross superstar Travis Pastrana for new show Nitro Circus, which debuted in America on Sunday (15Feb09) - and the project has already had more than its fair share of broken bones and injuries.
Knoxville reveals, "We've shot 12 episodes and there's been about that many surgeries... There was three of the guys who went to the hospital in one day."
And it was Pastrana's father, a 60-year-old Marines drill instructor, who suffered the worst injury during a crazy stunt.
Knoxville explains, "He jumped off the back of a boat, going 60 (miles per hour) and it went bad... It broke his pelvis and cut his urethra."
Knoxville shot to fame as a daredevil in hit television show Jackass, a series that went on to spawn two movies, before moving into acting.
He has found varying degrees as an actor, as he tried to move away from the jackass tag, with roles in The Dukes of Hazzard, Lords of Dogtown and Men In Black II.
