John Travolta visited New York on Thursday (22Sep11) for a sit-down chat with the widow of the gangster he is to portray onscreen.
The Hollywood actor will play late Mafia boss John Gotti, who died in 2002 while serving a life sentence behind bars, in upcoming movie Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father, which will explore the relationship between the notorious crime boss and his son John Gotti, Jr.
Travolta has been thoroughly researching the role and on Thursday he met with Gotti's widow, Victoria, for a discussion about the upcoming film.
He was photographed arriving at the family home in Queens, New York and after spending two hours inside, he told reporters he was doing "research for the movie", according to the New York Post.
Travolta's wife Kelly Preston will portray Victoria in the movie, while their daughter Ella Bleu with play the Gottis' daughter Angel.
The movie also stars Al Pacino and Ben Foster and is due for release next year (12).
In other news concerning John Travolta it's been revealled the actor has purchased a new luxury plane to fly his family around the globe.
The Pulp Fiction star, who is a certified pilot, has bought his very own Bombardier Challenger 601 jet after being named the aircraft manufacturer's new brand ambassador.
And he plans to use his private plane to whisk his wife Kelly Preston and their children, 11-year-old daughter Ella, and nine-month-old son Benjamin, away with him on his travels as part of a "whole new era" for the adventure-loving family.
He tells People.com, "My family fortunately loves traveling. Whenever I say, 'I have to go to Australia or Paris,' they say, 'When are we going? I'm there!'
"I just love being in the air. It has been my family time. I've enjoyed that."
