Jennifer Aniston has dismissed reports she is planning to adopt a child.

Reports emerged earlier this month (Jun07) that the Friends star wasfollowing in the footsteps of her ex-husband Brad Pitt and close pal Sheryl Crow, who have both adopted kids this year (07).However, the actress' representative says, "It is completely false. Jennifer has not met with any adoption agencies."Jennifer, 38, has always longed to become a mother and was said to be "devastated" by rumours her split from ex-husband Brad Pitt was because she wasn't ready to have children.A source said: "Jen was devastated by those nasty whispers. The reason they split had nothing to do with kids."Jennifer was also said to be deeply hurt by how quickly Brad settled down with lover Angelina Jolie. Brad and Angelina had a daughter, Shiloh, in May 2006 - just months after Brad's divorce was finalised - and they also have three adopted children.
