Jake Gyllenhaal proved his dedication to girlfriend Reese Witherspoon by helping her two kids compete in a Massachusetts road race this weekend (08Aug09).
The actor, who has been dating Witherspoon since 2007, put on his running shoes to tale Ava, nine and Deacon, five, to compete in the 5K Chilmark Road Race on Saturday (August 8) on Martha’s Vineyard.
Gyllenhaal came 53rd in the event with a time of 20 minutes, 43 seconds and made sure he grabbed a camera at the end to capture the kids crossing the finish line.
His mother, screenwriter Naomi Foner, also took part and was seen running alongside Deacon and shouting encouragement.
Ava and Deacon's dad is Witherspoon's ex-husband, actor Ryan Phillippe.
The pair met on the set of movie Rndition back in 2007 and although there have been wedding rumours the pair are yet to tie the knot.
