Rapper Ja Rule is returning to his native home in Queens, New York, to help raise funds for disadvantaged children. The Always On Time hitmaker will headline events at the LIFE Camp Weekend on 17-19 August (07) to help the non-profit organisation provide new educational, employment and social opportunities for underprivileged youngsters between the ages of 13 and 24.The highlight of the weekend will be the Annual LIFE Camp Inc. BBQ for the People on 18 August at Craigmeur Park in New Jersey, which is to be hosted by the hip-hop star, reports the New York Daily News.The rapper was arrested in July on a charge of possessing a fire arm after police officers discovered the gun in the car that he was travelling in, which was caught speeding.Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins', attorney blasted the rapper's arrest claiming that it was 'another instance of hip - hop targeting.'The rapper was arrested in 2005 after getting into a fight with a reveller at a nightspot in Toronto.He pleaded guilty to assault and was fined $1,200.
