You see, it’s Viv’s birthday and, having left all the planning to the last minute, she’s hoping that the Surf Club will play host to the celebrations; although it’s going to take a huge amount of work, Ric makes it clear that he’s up for the challenge.

Later that night, while Cassie is left to ponder why he’s pulling out all the stops for this woman, it’s just across the bar that Geoff witnesses something equally troubling: Tam, desperate to cover up her mum’s earlier theft of $200 from the diner, taking money from Viv’s purse.
