The man found guilty of stealing a rare Harry Potter book has landed six weeks in prison.
Kevin McGirr was charged after he was found guilty of stealing a limited edition Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone book.
The book, which was valued at £6,000, was stolen from the Creative Art Gallery in Woodstock, Oxfordshire where it was being kept in a special presentation box last October.
McGirr pleaded guilty to the charges at Banbury Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
As well as being given a six week prison term, McGirr was also ordered to pay £250 in compensation and £400 legal costs.
