Kelsey Grammer is convinced he was destined to meet new wife Kayte on a business flight to London because he had vowed to "change completely" on the trip.
The former Frasier star, who was in the midst of a messy split from his now ex-wife Camille, was in talks for a potential new project and he travelled to the U.K. to discuss the role.
Grammer jetted out from Los Angeles, and he was captivated by an air hostess on the plane - his future wife.
He tells CNN talk show host Piers Morgan, "I knew the minute I got that phone call (about the role) that my life was going to change completely, that something else was happening.
"When I walked through LAX, I spotted a girl, who just looked to be magnificent. There was a warmth, a glow, about her that I was drawn to. And I thought, 'Boy, I hope she's on my flight.'
"And when we got on the plane she walked down the other aisle... and there was this one moment when we smiled at each other. I thought, 'I gotta talk to her', so we started talking.
"I found her so charming and warm and interesting and loving. I guess there was a freshness about my persona to be attractive enough to her to want to meet for a coffee."
Opening up about their first date just days later in the U.K. capital, Grammer gushes, "It was Christmas, it was magnificent. There were lights everywhere.
"There was a nip in the air and this vision comes up from the tube stop in front of (department store) Harvey Nichols, puts on a little lipstick and I thought, 'She's the cutest thing I've ever seen!' We took a walk over to Hyde Park and they had this Christmas fair going on, with a ferris wheel.
"I leaned in and kissed her and we've been together ever since. The snow started to fall as we walked across the street together. It was insane."
The couple wed in February.
