Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand thrilled fans in New York last night (13Jun07) with a last-minute rehearsal show for this weekend's Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee. The Take Me Out hitmakers performed 14 tracks to a sold-out crowd at the Bowery Ballroom.The group is currently writing and recording new material in their adopted New York. Franz Ferdinand formed in 2001 and cinsist of lead singer Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy on bass, Nick McCarthy on rhythm guitar and Paul Thomson on drums.Their self titled debut album reached number 3 in the UK album chart in 2004 and it eventually sold in excess of 1,000,000 and several North Ameica tours.The album went on to win the 2004 Mercury Music Prize, an annual music prize awarded for the best British or Irish album of the past year.The bands second albumYou Could Have It So Much Better was released in October 2005 and gave the band their first number 1 record. It entered the US charts at number 8.
