The 75-year-old Estee Lauder boss, co-creator of the Pink Ribbon campaign for breast cancer awareness, died at her home in New York after losing her own battle with cancer.
Hurley has been the face of Lauder's charity drive for many years and she has now expressed her sadness at losing her friend.
In a post on Twitter, she writes: "RIP my dear friend and mentor, Evelyn Lauder. I will miss you so much. The world will never forget your work for breast cancer."
