Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam star, bagged his first Golden Globe award on Sunday night (13Jan08) for one of the songs he penned for friend Sean Penn’s Into the Wild film.After a televised press conference on Sunday night (13Jan08), Vedder’s prize was announced along with the Major TV and film winners. Vedder's win for the song Guaranteed was not his introduction to the Golden Globes, however - a tune the rocker wrote for Tim Burton's Big Fish lost out to Annie Lennox's offering for Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in 2004.The Best Original Score for Atonement award was given to Dario Marianelli – this top music category wasn’t announced during the conference. Other awards went to The Diving Bell & The Butterfly (Best Foreign Language Film), Joel and Ethan Coen won Best Screenplay for No Country For Old Men, The award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television went to Jim Broadbent.A full recap of award winners left Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Atonement, The Diving Bell & The Butterfly and TV dramas Longford and Mad Men the only double Golden Globe winners. Sweeney Todd and Atonement were named the Best films in the Comedy or Musical and Drama categories respectively. The night's big movie acting prizes went to Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor Drama for There Will Be Blood), Julie Christie (Best Actress Drama for Away From Her), Marion Cotillard (Best Actress Comedy/Musical for La Vie en Rose) and Johnny Depp (Best Actor Comedy/Musical for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street).
