Diane Von Furstenberg feared she would be disfigured for life after a horrifying ski accident last month (Jan11).
The style guru was airlifted to hospital after another skier collided with her during a holiday in Aspen, Colorado with her husband, businessman Barry Diller.
She was convinced her shocking injuries, which included a broken nose and a shattered cheekbone, would drastically change her appearance because medics told her she might need "complete facial reconstruction".
But the incident did have one happy consequence - Von Furstenberg has vowed never to undergo cosmetic surgery to alter her looks.
She tells the New York Daily News, "If I ever had any desire to have plastic surgery, after this week, I know for sure, I would not want it.
"I was so terrified that I would lose my old face... I don't want anybody else's face. I don't want a younger face. I just want my old face back.
