Daniel Radcliffe has revealed he voted for Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg at the U.K. polls in May (10).

The young actor met with the politician during his election campaign and took a liking to him - and he's thrilled Clegg is now one of the leaders of Britain's new coalition government, led by Conservative leader David Cameron.

Radcliffe says, "I'm a very big fan... I don't agree with everything he says, but of all the party leaders, he was the one I voted for.

"I thought he was a great speaker and very charismatic and very statesmanlike.

"I'm glad that he is still in a prominent position in British politics because I think he could make a great contribution.

"He comes from absolutely the right place in terms of what his values are."

Radcliffe is back on the big screen at the end of the year as he reprises the role of Harry Potter in Deathly Hallows, the final movie in the series.

The film has been split in two, the second half coming next summer.
