Cybill Shepherd has issued a public plea to Hollywood veteran Betty White - she wants to be a part of the former Golden Girls star's hit new U.S. sitcom.
White, 88, is currently in the middle of a career revival thanks to a SuperBowl commercial, an appearance on top comedy show Saturday Night Live and her TV comeback in Hot in Cleveland, opposite Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.
The sitcom is such a hit with viewers, bosses at the TV Land network, where the show airs, have commissioned a second season - and former Moonlighting star Shepherd, 60, is desperate to join the cast.
She says, "I want to be on her TV series - they need another blonde!
"I'm saying I wanna be on it. It's such a great show and I love her.
"She's one of my mentors. There's something so special about her."
