The dress that launched a thousand replicas.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s spectacular Sarah Burton wedding dress has been recreated for American shoppers and will be available in stores later this year.
The ‘duchess’ dress, designed by JS Collections, is already available for pre-order on Nordstrom.com, with royal wannabes able to purchase the gown in-store this September.
The JS Collection dress is so close in design to the original Royal Wedding gown that it even features the same 3 foot train, corseted bodice and lace overlay.
One thing that isn’t quite the same, however, is the price. Retailing at $698 dollars, the duchess dress is a snip of the price of the original Sarah Burton design, rumoured to have cost a whopping £250,000.
Pippa Middleton’s fitted white maid of honour dress, also design by Sarah Burton, was just as much of a hit as her sister’s extravagant gown, and has also been recreated for US budget store Dillards, retailing at $220.
