Bryant Gumbel
Bryant Gumbel, newsman and broadcaster announced he has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
He spoke out for the first time about battling cancer during his appearance on the American TV morning show Live with Regis & Kelly this Tuesday.
The TV anchor was filling in for Regis Philbin, who recently underwent successful hip replacement surgery when he made the shock announcement.
He admitted that he had already undergone surgery to remove a malignant tumour in his chest and part of his lung.
Talking on the show he said: “I've felt better, to be honest, not as strong as I'd like to be... but I feel OK."
Gumbel is best known for his 15 years as co-host of NBC’s The Today Show and has become a firm favourite with the American Audience.
