Bruce Forsyth has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth II during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London.
The 83 year old, who hosts popular U.K. reality show Strictly Come Dancing, was made a Sir on Wednesday (12Oct11) to mark his 70 years in showbusiness.
Forsyth branded the honour "absolutely wonderful" and added, "Entertaining - it's been the only thing I've ever wanted to do and I've done it for many, many years. Who feels like quitting? I want to go on."
During the ceremony on Wednesday, fashion designer Celia Birtwell was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to the fashion industry, while children's author and playwright Julia Donaldson received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) medal.
