Brittany Snow has teamed up with MTV to launch a new online anti-bullying campaign.

The blonde beauty was left "troubled" after reading about four separate incidents recently in which gay American teenagers have taken their own lives after allegedly being bullied for their sexual preferences.

And Snow is hoping the Love Is Louder campaign will help teens support their peers.

She says, "Initially, because of the recent suicides that had been going on, I was really troubled with what I was hearing and, of course, like everyone, I was really saddened by the news.

"Love Is Louder is a movement that is hopefully going to bring some awareness and make some noise when it comes to teens who are feeling suicidal or even just sad, outcasts, and being bullied, and really feel like they have nowhere to turn to.

"It's a place where people who have been through it can support them and share their stories, (so they will know) that they're not alone, and that there's a place for people to put their experiences and hope."

The actress admits her involvement with the project stems from her personal experiences of bullying - and the tragic suicide of a close friend.

She adds, "I was bullied in middle school and high school and went through my fair share of hard times thereafter. Also, one of my really good friends committed suicide when I was in high school.

"I understand and get when kids and teenagers feel like they're alone and it's not going to get better.

"My advice is that there is a support system out there, there are a lot of people who have been through what you're going through and are going through it now. You really need to speak up and know people love and support you, regardless."
