Britney Spears has gone into rehab,according to US TV show Extra which reported that she "entered rehab after months of hard partying". The troubled star had triggered fears for her health with a long downward spiral.It seem friends have persuaded the party loving star to check into the Crossroads clinic on the Caribbean island of Antigua.Britney, 25, was seen being sick in a bag in her limo then throwing it out of the window following a party in New York.According to the Sun Newspaper, family and friends pushed the singer to seek help after she went clubbing night after night to ease the pain of her divorce from Kevin Federline.Pals say she reached rock bottom when she was dumped by her model lover Isaac Cohen earlier this month.Extra also reported Britney’s mum Lynne and dad Brian were worried she might lose custody of her two young sons.Britney’s publicist Gina Orr would not deny she had gone into rehab, saying only: "We will not be commenting on her personal life."

But her former assistant Felicia Culotta told fans how she had urged the star to mend her ways before it was too late.

Sources told the newspaper Britney checked into the clinic, which is owned by guitar legend Eric Clapton, on February 13 for a £10,000 course - but checked out again just days later.

She left early yesterday and caught a flight back to Los Angeles. On arrival she went from the airport to a hotel to be reunited with her two sons.
