Actor Brad Pitt has called on the U.S. government to do more to help the people of New Orleans, Louisiana two years after Hurricane Katrina left the city devastated. The Ocean's Eleven star believes America's leaders have a responsibility to do all they can to rebuild New Orleans, because it was the fault of decades of bad civic decisions that much of the city was washed away.Pitt says, "Katrina was a man-made disaster. The misconception is that it was nature. But this was man-made."Decades and decades of erroneous engineering moves, really bad, irresponsible moves that I believe the government has a responsibility to make right."The actor paid a visit to a construction site to his low income, eco friendly housing project in the city to check on its progress earlier this week. The project has been put in place to offer affordable housing to those who lost their homes during the disaster. And Pitt has more plans to help the city, where he and partner Angelina Jolie have biught a house, the couple are to host an intimate dinner to raise funds for New orleans housing projects.
