A man accused of firing shots at the White House is to be charged with attempting to assassinate U.S. President Barack Obama - even though the leader was not at home.
Authorities have ruled Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez's actions were hateful and they are now reportedly investigating his mental health after he allegedly told officials he was on a personal mission from God.
Hernandez was arrested by police in Pennsylvania on Wednesday on suspicion of firing a semiautomatic rifle at the White House last week.
The shooting incident took place while Obama was on tour in Hawaii, Australia and Indonesia. He has still not returned to America.
It is still not clear what the motive for the gunfire was, but officials believe Hernandez hates the president and "hates society".
