Singer/actress Ashley Tisdale has dismissed reports of a rift between her and her High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, insisting the two are "bestest friends". The 22-year-old star has long been rumoured to be a rival of 18-year-old Hudgens, but Tisdale claims the press have it all wrong.She tells the New York Daily News, "People always try to compare me and Vanessa to each other, and it's so weird."We're always laughing when people pit us against one another in magazines, like 'Vanessa versus Ashley: The Feud!' We call each other twin sisters. She's one of my closest and bestest friends." The pair shot to fame in High School Musical, a movie made for television, which became the most successful Disney Channel original movie produced.With the success of the film came a soundtrack, the best selling album of 2006, and tour. There is now a second television movie, which is soon to be aired, as well a feature film in the pipeline.The movie successfully launched the career of America's new heart throb Zac Efron who has gone on to star in surprise summer hit Hairspray alongside John Travolta.
