Arun Nayar Disowned After Father Disrespected At Epic WeddingsNewlyweds Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar have been disowned by the groom's parents following their "shabby" behaviour at their week-long wedding last month (MAR07).Arun's father Vinod Nayar and stepmother Joanne claim they were made to feel like "second class citizens" at both the English and Indian celebrations enjoining the extravagant celebrity couple.Vinod, 66, says, "My wife Joanne and I feel we were publicly humiliated and treated like social outcasts for the sake of a Hello! magazine deal."Elizabeth and Arun have treated us very shabbily. My heart is heavy with pain."According to the British paper The Sunday Mirror, the newlyweds prevented Vinod from appearing on the wedding platform where the groom's father traditionally welcomes the bride into his family.Vinod also cancelled a $58,500 (£30,000) post-wedding party in Mumbai (Bombay), India, after the couple reportedly mistreated Indian relatives and Hurley brushed off a $68,250 (£35,000) necklace, commissioned for her as a wedding gift by Nayar's father and stepmother. The feud began in February (07) when Joanne confirmed the wedding dates and locations to the press, not realising this would enrage Hurley into banning the older couple from the English leg of her wedding.
Vinod says, "I phoned Arun back in London. He said Elizabeth was angry that Joanna had been talking to the press in India about the wedding and using her to promote her jewellery line."
Although Hurley re-invited her in-laws to be, the couple felt highly disrespected at the Sudeley, England celebrations on 2 March.
As a result of these incidents, Vinod has written Arun a letter expressing his disappointment, evicting his son from a building in Mumbai and disowning him.
