Celebrated snapper Annie Leibovitz has settled a breach of copyright lawsuit with an Italian photographer, who accused her of stealing his pictures for a coffee campaign.

Leibovitz, famed for her work for Vanity Fair magazine, was hit with a $300,000 suit from Paolo Pizzetti, who alleged he was hired to scout a location for Leibovitz's calendar for Lavazza coffee.

Pizzetti claimed in court documents, which were filed in New York in September (09), that Leibovitz had used the photos he took of the locations in the calendar without his consent.

But now, according to papers obtained by New York gossip column PageSix, a settlement has been agree between the warring parties, with Pizzetti even praising Leibovitz's work.

He says, "Annie Leibovitz is one of the great photographers of our times."
