Adriana Ferreyr is suing her elderly billionaire ex-boyfriend for $50 million (£31.25 million) over allegations he reneged on a verbal promise to buy her a luxury apartment in New York.
The 28 year old began dating 80-year-old George Soros after meeting him at a luncheon in 2006.
Ferreyr claims Soros agreed to give her a new $1.9 million (£1.19 million) home in the city's post Upper East Side while they were dating, but failed to honour the promise when they split last year (10).
They briefly reconciled, but the actress alleges the reunion soured after Soros told her he'd given the apartment he'd allegedly promised to her to another woman.
In legal papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Ferreyr accuses the ageing financial mogul, who is worth a staggering $14.5 billion, of turning violent, describing how he once "put his hands around her neck in an attempt to choke her".
Soros' lawyer, William Zabel, has denied the assault allegations and slammed the lawsuit, dismissing it as "frivolous and entirely without merit", according to the New York Post.
Ferreyr rose to fame as the star of hit Brazilian soap Marisol in 2002.
