If you’ve been keeping up with our Podcast of the week series which runs every monday, then you will already know how much we love listening to all kinds of audio.
If you’ve not yet converted to podcast-listening, here are five reasons why you should do it now!
They’re free
Ok so you might have to pay a subscription fee to some listening outlets, but once you’re in the podcasting world is your oyster! Also, there are plenty of free sources to browse and listen on - it’s well-worth having a look into.
You can listen at your own convenience
Pause it, play it, skip it, rewind it or fast forward at your own leisure. Unlike radio which is generally live, podcasts are all pre-recorded, meaning you can take a break from it if you need to.
You can multitask
You can have a busy day of back to back tasks and chores and still enjoy the pleasures of a podcast whilst you’re at it.
Unlike TV you don’t have to watch, and so all your attention is focused on listening making, it easier to learn new things, enjoy stories and laugh out loud as you go about your daily business.
There is something for everyone
Whether you want to learn about history or health, want to laugh at a comedy or cry at a love story, or if you want to listen to true crime tales to you heart’s content - there is guaranteed to be something out there for everyone.
If you’re new to podcasts and don’t quite know where to start, check out our podcast of the week series! Every monday we talk about one podcast we can’t get enough of.
If you love true crime, Crime Junkie may be for you - but if you prefer to explore mental health or psychology, have a read of our reviews on The Naked Professors or The Psychology Behind with Dr Linda Papadopoulos.
They’re great for time out
We’ve all that those times when you just want to shut yourself off, put your earphones in and listen to something to take you away from the moment - but there is just no music that quite capture the mood! You scroll through every playlist looking for some inspiration but get nothing. That’s when podcasts step in.
You don’t need to be in any certain mood - it’s a conversation you’re a part of, but don’t need to make any effort to get involved in.
Perfect solution!
