Academy Award® winner, Clint Eastwood (Gran Torino, J. Edgar, Mystic River), stars alongside Oscar ® Nominee, Amy Adams (The Fighter, Doubt, Junebug), and Justin Timberlake (The Social Network, Friends with Benefits) in Trouble with the Curve.
Directed by Eastwood’s longtime collaborator Robert Lorenz, the film arrives in the UK on DVD with UltraViolet and available to download on 20th May, just in time to make it the perfect film for Father’s Day.
Trouble with the Curve offers a poignant look at a father and daughter coming together again after years of a troubled relationship, with Eastwood starring as ageing baseball scout, Gus Lobel.
Gus’s daughter and hotshot lawyer Mickey (Adams) has never been close to her father, who was ill-equipped to be a single parent after the death of his wife, but is drawn into helping him as he is given one final chance to prove he can still hack it with his team.
Even now, in the rare moments they share, he is too easily distracted by what Mickey assumes to be his first love: the game.
Gus refuses to sit out what could be the final part of his career, and to prove that he can still hack it with the Atlanta Braves is forced to turn to the one person he would never ask: Mickey.
Against her better judgment and over Gus’s objections, Mickey joins him on his latest scouting trip to North Carolina, jeopardising her own career as an associate at a high-powered Atlanta law firm to save his.
Forced to spend time together for the first time in years, each makes new discoveries - revealing long-held truths about their past and present that could change their relationship forever. Also adding to Gus’s troubles is rival scout (Timberlake) who has his sights on Mickey.
The film also stars John Goodman as Pete Klein, an old friend of Gus’ and Matthew Lilliard as Philip Sanderson, the Braves associate director of scouting.
Trouble With The Curve is released 20th May.
