Kind-hearted but hopeless in love Tim (Gleeson) grew up in a beautiful family home on the Cornish coastline, with his eccentric but wise Dad (Nighy) sweet and scatty Mum (Lindsay Duncan) and rebellious and wild-at-heart sister KitKat (Lydia Wilson).
He spent a happy childhood indulging in simple pleasures with his family, drinking tea on the beach, watching films on their garden’s giant movie screen and spending long summers in the stunning countryside.
However, as Tim celebrates his 21st Birthday, Dad reveals an incredible and enchanting family secret... all the men in his family have the ability to travel in time, meaning he can revisit any moment in his life to try things differently until he gets them perfectly right.
As Tim leaves his hometown and adventures to the big city of London to enter adult life in the real world, he embraces his new revelation in a quest to find love. At a dating in the dark night in Soho, he meets the practically-perfect Mary (McAdams) who is irresistibly normal and may just change Tim’s life forever.
However, disaster strikes and Tim must use his power to revisit the past and change time to help a friend, in turn erasing his meeting with Mary from her mind.
Adding twists and tribulations to his true love tale, Tim uses his ability to try, try and try again to meet Mary in a hilariously difficult sequence of events.
The story follows Tim’s journey as he conquers the ups and downs of any everyday life. He discovers that many days you want to relive forever, and some you only want to live once... Tim must uncover how best to use his family secret to benefit his extraordinary, ordinary life.
Arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day, treat your loved one, and embrace a timeless and magical journey to discover true love and happiness, as About Time is released on Blu-ray and DVD - both with UltraViolet - and digital download from 3rd February 2014.
