Victoria Wood's Mid-Life Christmas DVD
BAFTA and British Comedy award-winner Victoria Wood, is to release her first Christmas special in over a decade on DVD.
Mid Life Christmas aired on BBC1 last year with over 7.4 million viewers tuning in to watch the show specially written by the comedy great. The DVD featuring Mid Life Christmas plus extras is released on 29th November.
Victoria Wood has long held a place in the nation’s hearts and has always been a highlight of the national television schedules. Last year’s Mid Life Christmas was no exception.
Highlights from the Christmas show include scenes from the hotly contested Mid Life Olympics, a charming snapshot of rural lives, loves and some unusual personal grooming techniques in Lark Pies to Cranchesterford and a special performance of ‘The Ballad of Barry and Freda’ (Let’s Do It) - Victoria’s upbeat ode to middle-aged passions.
And as if one queen of comedy wasn’t enough, Mid Life Christmas also features an appearance from long time collaborator Julie Walters, who gives us an insight into the life of soap star Bo Beaumont, as well as appearances by Delia Smith, Anton du Beke and Torvill & Dean.

The DVD also contains an exclusive sneak peak at what goes on behind the scenes - in ‘What Larks!’ a ‘making of’ documentary featuring exclusive behind the scenes footage and interviews.
The bumper box set is also on general release from 29th November containing Mid Life Christmas as well as extra shows Sold Out and All The Trimmings.
