Rating: 3/5
Liam Neeson is turning into a right action hero in his more mature years with Taken, The A-Team and now his new movie Unknown - not that there is anything wrong with that!
Dr. Martin Harris (Neeson) awakens after a car accident in Berlin to discover that his wife (Jones) suddenly doesn't recognize him and another man (Quinn) has assumed his identity.
Ignored by disbelieving authorities and hunted by mysterious assassins, he finds himself alone, tired and on the run.
Aided by an unlikely ally (Kruger), Martin plunges headlong into a deadly mystery that will force him to question his sanity, his identity, and just how far he's willing to go to uncover the truth.
Unknown is a perfectly good, run of the mill action movie that will keep you entertained for a couple of hours but nothing more.
Liam Neeson once again excels as the action hero as he tries to uncover the truth - only to not like what he finds.
Ok so the script may lack originalty - we really have seen it all before - but that doesn't stop Unknown from being a fast paced ride with some really good action sequences; the car chase being a highlight.
The rest of the cast are never really stretched but Kruger, Jones and the rather creepy Aidan Quinn all turn in solid performances.
Ok so there are a few plot holes and the plot does get a little shaky once the truth is out but Serra drives the action forward - it really never lets up until the end.
Unknown may not have the intensity and drive of Taken but it's an exciting ride that will sweep up an audience.
Unknown is out on DVD now
