The Tourist DVD

Rating: 1/5

When two Hollywood heavyweights like Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp team up for a movie then you expect something special… sadly that is not what happened The Tourist.

During an impromptu trip to Europe to mend a broken heart, Frank (Depp) unexpectedly finds himself in a flirtatious encounter with Elise (Angelina Jolie), an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path.

Against the breathtaking backdrop of Paris and Venice, their whirlwind romance quickly evolves as they find themselves unwittingly thrust into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Sadly The Tourist is not the exciting thriller that the trailer promises - all the good parts of the movie are in that trailer and the rest of it is rather dull!

The performances are flat as Depp and Jolie looking totally uninterested and fail to engage with the script or each other.

There is absolutely no chemistry between the pair and, I’m afraid. The beautiful setting to the movie is far more interesting than the movie.

The plot is outrageous and really really boring - I challenge anyone who watches the movie not to fall asleep in the middle of it.

There are no thrills or intrigue in this movie sadly it’s just run of the mill and predictable. The script tries to be witty but fails while Depp and Jolie try to be flirty - which also doesn’t work.

Apart from the stunning backdrop of Venice there are no plus points to this movie it’s dull and uninspiring that, quite frankly, you just want to turn it off!

When the credits finally role you are left wondering what the hell we Depp and Jolie thinking?

The Tourist is out now.
