From the creators of the smash-hit series The Office and Extras and based on the original record-breaking podcasts, the animated series of The Ricky Gervais Show is now available on DVD.
Voiced by Ricky Gervais, his long-time collaborator Stephen Merchant and sidekick oddity Karl Pilkington (whose offbeat musings inspire many of the storylines), fans can now watch as the same random and downright ridiculous banter magically comes to life.
Like Karl, the format of the show couldn’t be simpler. Ricky and Steve ponder and mock observations made by their perfectly round-headed friend.
The net is cast far and wide as they trawl for topics to discuss which include the merits of 20th century inventions; Karl’s suggestion for population control; how philosophy has evolved through the ages; as well as Karl’s round head and his thoughts on charity.
Regular features include a ‘Monkey News’ segment and excerpts from Karl’s diary, read by Stephen.
The original chart-topping podcasts have become a world-wide comedy phenomenon and earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloads.
The Ricky Gervais Show was originally produced for HBO Entertainment by Media Rights Capital in association with Wildbrain; a second series has just been commissioned.
