From Producer Michael Bay (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror) and debut Director Dave Meyers, comes the eagerly awaited remake of the 1986 terror classic, The Hitcher, available to buy and rent on DVD from 1st October 2007. This terrifying, edge-of-your seat horror, tracks the nightmare cross-country journey of college students Grace Andrews (Sophia Bush) and Jim Halsey (Zachary Knighton) as they are tormented by a mysterious and psychotic hitchhiker John Ryder, a.k.a. The Hitcher (Sean Bean). The young couple hit the open road on their way to meet friends for spring break in New Mexico, but their road trip leads them on to the highway to hell.In the midst of a torrential rainstorm Grace and Jim come across a man standing in the middle of the road, his car apparently broken down. They decide not to help, but further down the road they stop at a service station and find themselves come face to face with the same man (John Ryder). He asks the unsuspecting couple for a lift to a local motel and they reluctantly oblige, but soon realise he wants more than just a lift he wants their lives.

From the moment Ryder sits in their car he drops his friendly façade and reveals the psychotic killer beneath.

With no explanation of his background or how he became a murderous maniac, Ryder seems driven by an unknown force to kill and maim at will and the unsuspecting couple are his next prey.

As this deadly game of cat and mouse continues, the nomadic New Mexico scenery plays backdrop to this apocalyptic battleground of blood and metal.

As the death toll rises Ryder frames the couple as murderers and soon they find themselves on the run from the law as State Police Lieutenant Esteridge’s (Neal McDonough) officers try and bring them to justice.

Will Ryder claim their heads? Will the couple fall foul of the law? Can Ryder be stopped? Watch the madness unfold with intense edge-of-your-seat chase sequences that drive this sinister film to a deadly ending you won’t forget.
