Paramount Home Entertainment PresentsA terrifying tale of technological horror, coming to DVD 5th March 2007 As technology charges ahead at lightning speeds, so does the way the paranormal closes in on us. Paramount Home Entertainment presents this nerve-jangling and chilling tale of wireless technology tapping into a terrifying connection with a world beyond our own.
Inspired by the terrifying 2001 Japanese film Kairo, Pulse serves as a cautionary tale on our relationship to the realm of high-tech technology at our fingertips. When a circle of friends stumble on a wi-fi portal that offers more than a mere internet interface, events spiral out of control, leaving them with a connection to an unknown world.
The story follows psychology major Mattie (Kirsten Bell, Veronica Mars, Deepwater), who begins receiving mysterious, cryptic emails from beyond the grave. Petrified, she turns to her geeky friend Dexter (Ian Somerhalder, Lost) and together they begin to investigate the truth. Their crusade is soon joined by Matties best friend and roommate Isabel (Christina Milian, Be Cool), as well as depressed computer hacker Josh (Jonathan Tucker, Hostage, Six Feet Under). As the friends delve deeper into the unknown underbelly of technology, they must face the terrifying consequences.
With a stellar cast, Pulse races along at breakneck speed, twisting and turning with each terrifying discovery. Director Jim Sorenzo has created a unique combination in Pulse a story that explores todays techno-fuelled society within a horror movie context. This is a mind-blowing journey through cyberspace, packed to the brim with hot young stars and stunning visuals.
Released by Paramount with lots of extras, this spine-tingling look at what lies beyond the grave (and keyboard) is both chilling and thrilling. Log on at your peril.Pulse
