Following on from the phenomenal success of the previous four series, the multi-award-winning, critically acclaimed comedy series Peep Show, starring David Mitchell and Robert Webb, returns to DVD with the release of the complete fifth series, available for the first time from Monday 16th June 2008.
Featuring all six episodes plus a stack of exclusive DVD extras, including behind-the-scenes with writers Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, a guided tour through Mark and Jeremyâs prolific love lives with The Peep Show Relationship Tree, existing episode shot entirely from Sophieâs (Olivia Colman) point of view as well as a whole host of deleted scenes. The eagerly anticipated new DVD release of the multi award winning sitcom (Golden Rose, Comedy Awards, BAFTA), is released by 4DVD in tandem with the Peep Show 1 â 5 Boxset (RRP £49.99). An absolute must for fans of the show and a great addition to any DVD collection, the box set features all five series in their entirety plus all additional extras and bonus material.
Peep Show 5 continues to follow the domestic adventures of Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb), two 30-something flat mates living in south London. As ever, we are party to their innermost thoughts as the dysfunctional duo try to grow up, find love and fulfillment and a place in the modern world.
Mark is the conventional one seething with inner rages and desires. Jeremy is the loose cannon with the emotional maturity of a 14-year-old. Â
Series four left Mark having just gone through a disastrous marriage ceremony to Sophie (Olivia Colman). Now, he confronts the horror of having to face his estranged wife at work. Meanwhile Jeremy has a rude awakening when the money heâs been subsisting on finally runs out.
This series sees Mark and Jeremy still sharing the same flat, but both entering their 30s with failed marriages behind them, few prospects, and a sense of impending crisis. Time is running out for them to sort out their lives. Jeremyâs mother appears on the scene and it soon becomes clear why heâs ended up as he is.Â
Mark goes speed dating, and discovers money can buy you love. Jeremy and Superhans (Matt King) play at a Christian Rock Festival; the flat suffers multiple burglaries and the boys endure their worst ever night out â at the theatre.
Peep Show is produced by Objective Productions and directed by Jeremy Wooding (series one) Tristam Shapeero (series two and three) and Becky Martin (series four and five). Series one and two were produced by Phil Clarke (Big Train, Brass Eye), who is also series producer for series three and four. Series three and four were produced by Robert Popper (The Timewaster Diary, Timewaster Letter Series, Look Around You) while series five was produced by Izzy Mant. Peep Show is written by Jesse Armstrong & Sam Bain.
