All good things must come to an end – even a Golden Globe® Award–Award–winning and critically acclaimed series like Nip/Tuck.
On 6th September, Warner Home Video (WHV) brings the sixth and final season of this groundbreaking original series to DVD. Titled Nip/Tuck: The Sixth and Final Season, this release will feature 19 cutting-edge episodes and will retail for £39.99 SRP.
Created by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Popular), Nip/Tuck stars Dylan Walsh, Julian McMahon, Joely Richardson, John Hensley, Roma Maffia and Kelly Carlson.
During the sixth and last season of Nip/Tuck, Sean McNamara and Christian Troy’s financially struggling practice manages to stay afloat during a downturned economy thanks to the help of Dr. Mike Hamoui (Mario Lopez), a plastic surgeon who brings a very unique niche specialty to their business.
Sean (Dylan Walsh) marries Teddy (Rose McGowan) while Christian (Julian McMahon) is sued for divorce by a heartbroken and angry Liz (Roma Maffia).
Matt (John Hensley) decides to attend mime school in an effort to start a new career. His new vocation however, takes a strange turn and he manages to land himself in jail.
Christian barters with the authorities for his release and performs cosmetic surgery on a death-row inmate (Eric Stonestreet – “Modern Family”). J
ulia’s mother (Vanessa Redgrave) threatens to take custody of Julia (Joely Richardson) and Sean’s kids. As a stipulation to marry Christian, Kimber (Kelly Carlson) terminates her unexpected pregnancy. Sean’s growing disgust of Christian begins to push him to leave the practice.
In spite of their volatile personal and professional lives, Drs. McNamara and Troy do not reject any opportunities to perform their surgical wonders.
Patients include a woman who has had her face ripped off by a chimp; a man who wakes from a long coma and asks for surgery to regain all his lost years; a cross-dresser who asks for a lifelike mask to wear when he’s on the town in drag with his wife; two realtors who want to look more like real-life Barbie and Ken dolls, and much more.
DVD bonus material includes a featurette titled Tell Me What You Don’t Like About Yourself – The Psychology. This featurette examines new trends in plastic surgery and explores why people become addicts to the surgery.
